Calico Critters Cloverleaf Manor

2010 July 2

The Cloverleaf Critters Cloverleaf Manor is the largest of the Calico Critters/Sylvanian Families houses with nine large rooms over three floors.

The Manor is a large but cozy place for the calico critters to call home and can be customized with furniture and animals that you can choose (as they are sold separately).

Cloverleaf Manor and Grand Hotel

It is interesting to note that in the Sylvanian Families range the Cloverleaf Manor is known as The Sylvanian Grand Hotel  rather than a house, which gives you an idea of its size in relation to the other houses in the series.

As with the Townhome the Cloverleaf Manor can open and close according to play requirements.

Closed, it is a fully realized home in 360 degrees and you can peer through the windows into the interior while opening the two sides out allows easy access to play areas inside. The house measures 36 1/2″ x 20″ x 9 1/4″ opened, 18 1/2″ x 20″ x 14 1/2″ closed.

It is deep enough to fit quite a bit of furniture and still have areas  for the cute little critters to move around and interact with each other.

It is the best house in the range for holding all the pieces and providing endless hours of pretend fun, your kids can easily get lost in this for hours at a time without being frustrated by lack of space.

Cloverleaf Manor Features

As well as the interior there is a small balcony on the second floor that you can put a few figures on at most, as well as a larger, more functional rooftop patio area with railings that your critters can use sunbathing or entertaining with a great view.

Inside, the Manor doesn’t come with much save a chandelier with included lithium battery.

The chandelier lights up and adds a beautiful ambience to the house at night, you may find your little girl up late at night playing with the house and as it is a battery, the light and the house can be moved together.

There is “stained glass” in a round feature window at the houses’ apex and the French doors that open onto the small veranda also feature designs, which is a beautiful touch.

Outside, the Manor comes with flower window boxes and topiary plants that add to the whole “grand” look of the house beautifully. You can even take the plants inside or up on the rooftop patio if they tend to get lost on the outside.

Keep in mind that, as with most Calico Critters houses, you need to purchase the furniture and figures in addition to the house. This obviously keeps the purchase price down and also allows you to decorate with your own choice of furniture and characters.

If you are purchasing this for a gift you may want to add a furniture and/or family pack just so your child can play from the outset.

Cloverleaf Manor Overview

Our Rating:

Size: It is bigger than the other houses so if you have the space it is the ideal first Calico Critters House

Style: The Manor is beautifully styled, with many small details that make it continue to appeal to kids for years

Durability:Apart from the Chandelier you can’t purchase replacement parts separately such as the verandah railings.

Having said that, with all the furniture options available to decorate the inside, this may not be of an issue to most parents or kids who play with the home. The plastic is well made and will not break easily. Expect this to last your kids through a number of stages and ages.

Price:With a recommended retail price of $180 it is quite pricey but consider the durability of the playset over time and its size it will be worth the extra investment.

Notes: If ordering online from places like Amazon take note the shipping box comes with a picture of the house on the outside, so get it delivered to a friend if you are saving the house for a surprise!

Product came undamaged and was in perfect condition. Mailing was efficient and purchase was confidential and secure.

I was absolutely satisfied with the purchase and my nine year old daughter was thrilled on Christmas morning!

This manor is so much fun!! Our eleven year old son and our fourteen year old daughter even play with the Manor under supervision, of course from our nine year old daughter. I also love to play, at 47 years old. I know that it is expensive, but once you see the size and sturdiness of the Manor, you will understand the cost. We found this item more “family building” than the Wii System.

    Thank you so much!!!

This is a really nice house – my 4 year daughter hasn’t stopped playing with it since she got it! My 6 year old son even likes playing with her with Cloverleaf Manor as well!

My daughter was thrilled to get this “surprise” for her 2nd birthday and I was impressed at first by it as well. Unfortunately, now that she’s had it for a few weeks, we’ve realized that the railings on the roof porch and front porch come off extremely easily and can be broken or lost. When I called to get replacement railings the company doesn’t offer any replacement parts. It’s $[...] down the drain after a couple of weeks. It’s really a shame.

Just an FYI to other parents purchasing this as a gift… every single thing we have ever ordered from Amazon (which is 50+ items/year) ALWAYS comes in a standard brown cardboard box… EXCEPT this Calico Critters Cloverleaf Manor. As such, my daughter saw the UPS man walking up the driveway with the box proudly displaying what was inside. So sad as this was supposed to be a “Santa gift”! I have no complaints otherwise, I just wanted to let other parents know to possibly have it delivered to a neighbor’s house if you plan for it to be a surprise!

This was a huge surprise for our daughters, ages 7 and 3. This is large enough for both to play and decorate on their own. We chose this large manor because of the flexibility it offers for the girls to decorate, the durability if offers, and it looks even better in person.

The box arrived in perfect condition and in a timely manner. I would highly recommend this product as it will be one we will have for many years to come. We have had other smaller houses before, but this really allows the girls to make this their own with the choices and options they have for their rooms. This is great!

The Calico Critters Cloverleaf Manor is huge and impressive looking.Grandma gave it to our 5-yo daughter for Christmas and the look on her face was worth every penny. I admit that I have been very much against plastic dollhouses, but since this was a gift, I decided to check it out before I passed judgment. Daughter has two other dollhouses that are wood and very sturdy, this one, however, was tailor-made for her beloved Calico Critters. It is very deep, which is good for fitting in a number of furniture sets, which I have to admit the other houses do not. I have included a photo of it on the Calico Critters Play Table. It just fits folded up, to open it and play you have to remove it from the table. I would not purchase it for a younger child, as it is after all plastic, but with reasonable care, a 5yo should be able to play with it and have fun. Very pretty dollhouse! I do not have the front porch attached in the picture, and the plants that are included are not shown in the picture; those are wooden cacti from my son’s Papo Fort Rattlesnake. At the time that I bought this (Dec. 12, 2009) Amazon’s amount was eighty less than that at TRU, and even though it is slightly higher on Amazon right now, it is still the best amount around. Can’t beat the 2-day FREE shipping of Amazon Prime! When I was little, I just died for the Sylvanian Families of the 70′s, but never got any. Now my daughter has the absolute best there is and I couldn’t be happier!! PS: I REALLY appreciated a previous reviewer who mentioned that the box has the photo of the toy on the outside. That heads up – plus the Prime shipping which allowed me to pinpoint EXACTLY which day it was coming – allowed me to arrange for an after-school activity until the delivery came and I could whisk it away before she came home from school. Thanks, reviewer!

My granddaughter likes the dollhouse. It is really alot too pay for it though. It’s plain inside, no decorations or wallpaper on walls. The only thing it comes with is a light to put on the ceiling. Really cost way too much.

My daughter loves Calico Critters and this is the best and biggest house for holding all the pieces and providing endless hours of fun. This was the best price anywhere, and it came within a week. Having the house allows my daughter to have a lot more fun arranging everything and keeping her playing in her room by herself.

Calico critters are so detailed that my kids just love them…and they promote a good, wholesome image too which I kind of like. We got the manor house last Christmas and it keeps the girls occupied for hours on end having the little families to tea parties and what not. Great fun !
